HSE Advisor – Construction & Commissioning | Kwinana WA

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HSE Advisor to support construction and commissioning activities across multiple projects within a major mineral processing operation based in Kwinana, WA.

This is a hands-on, site-based role working closely with construction teams, contractors and operations to ensure safe execution during both standard works and a critical shutdown period.

The Role
As the HSE Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting safe work execution across construction and commissioning activities. You’ll be highly visible on site, engaging directly with crews to ensure compliance, drive safe behaviours, and proactively manage risk.

Key Safety Responsibilities

  • Promote a strong safety-first culture across all site activities
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations
  • Ensure compliance with site HSE procedures, PTW systems, and legislation
  • Support safe execution of construction, shutdown, and commissioning works
  • Assist with risk assessments, JHAs, and hazard identification
  • Monitor high-risk activities including isolations, working at heights, and equipment use
  • Participate in incident investigations and ensure timely reporting of hazards and near misses
  • Support toolbox talks, pre-starts, and safety briefings
  • Work closely with supervisors, contractors, and operations teams to manage SIMOPS risks

About You

  • Previous experience in an HSE role within construction, mining, or processing environments
  • Strong understanding of permit-to-work systems and high-risk work controls
  • Experience working in shutdown or live plant environments (highly regarded)
  • Knowledge of Australian HSE legislation and standards
  • Confident using reporting tools and MS Office
  • Relevant safety qualifications (e.g. Cert IV in WHS or equivalent)

  • Contract Duration: Late March – Late May (shutdown period included)
