Position Overview
OSOS Alliance are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Queensland. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious assistant accounting professional to further develop their career while contributing to our organization’s financial operations and growth.
Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Assist with monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports
  • Manage payroll processing and related activities
  • Handle bank reconciliations
  • Process employee expense claims
  • Assist with BAS and other tax-related matters
  • Support senior team members with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Experience with bank reconciliations and month-end processes
  • Understanding of GST and BAS requirements

Desired Skills & Attributes

  • Progress toward CA/CPA qualification (preferred)
  • SAP experience is a bonus
  • Experience with MYOB, Xero, or similar accounting software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Proactive approach to work and continuous improvement

Working Hours

  • Full-time position (38 hours per week)
  • Monday to Friday
