HSETQ Officer (Health, Safety, Environment, Training & Quality)

Reporting to senior management, you will play a key role in supporting operational teams across multiple projects and sites, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, quality standards and company systems while promoting a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a positive health, safety, environmental and quality culture across the business
- Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments, safety observations and quality assurance reviews
- Assist in the development, implementation and review of HSETQ policies, procedures, systems and management plans
- Investigate incidents, hazards, non-conformances and near misses, identifying corrective actions and preventative measures
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and employee inductions
- Support training, competency management and workforce development programs
- Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation, environmental regulations, quality standards and company requirements
- Monitor and report on HSETQ performance metrics and key business indicators
- Assist operational teams with risk management, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support internal and external audits, including corrective action tracking and close-out
- Maintain accurate HSETQ documentation, records and reporting systems
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of integrated management systems and operational processes
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- Previous experience in a Health, Safety, Environment, Training or Quality-focused role
- Sound knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, management systems and continuous improvement principles
- Understanding of quality management systems and auditing processes
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to influence and build positive working relationships across all levels of an organisation
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving, investigation and root-cause analysis capabilities
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
Desirable Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or higher)
- Diploma or Degree qualifications in WHS, Environmental Management, Quality Management or a related discipline
- Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor experience
- Knowledge of ISO Management Systems including ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Experience within water, wastewater, civil, construction, utilities or industrial services environments
- Training and Assessment qualifications (highly regarded)
