Machine Operator / MC Driver

Roster: 3:1 (21 days on / 7 days off)
Location: Orroroo, NSW (current site) – future sites will vary
Contract: 3 months (potential for ongoing work across future projects)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $37.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

About the Role
We’re seeking experienced Machine Operators / MC Drivers to join our client’s remote field operations team. This is a hands-on role across cable hauling, civil repairs and heavy equipment operation – ideal for someone who’s not afraid of hard work, enjoys variety, and thrives in a close-knit crew.

You’ll be part of a team of six, working together in the field where everyone pulls their weight and looks out for each other. When you’re not operating machinery, you’ll be assisting with general labouring and civil works to keep projects running safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Multi-Combination driving – operating MC vehicles safely and efficiently
• Rod, Rope & Hauling – assisting with cable hauling by hand and machinery, including quality checks
• Civil works – repairing blockages, operating plant and equipment such as: Dozer, Excavator, Vacuum trucks, Winches, Mobile cranes, HR trucks
• Labouring duties – fence cutting and repair, excavation (hand and mechanical), and general site support

Requirements & Licences

• Current MC Licence (essential)
• Current Construction White Card (essential)

Having any of the following is beneficial but not essential:

• Operator & VOC Excavator
• Operator & VOC Dozer
• Pit, Pipe & Cable Hauling course
• Work Safely at Heights
• High Risk Licence
• Vehicle Loading Crane

Location & Allowances

• Current project site: Orroroo, NSW
• Future sites will vary – all based in rural or remote locations
• Accommodation options:
• Client-provided accommodation with $120/day allowance, or
• Organise your own accommodation and receive a $276/day allowance

You’re a practical, hardworking person who’s easy to get along with and doesn’t mind putting in the effort – whether you’re driving solo or working side by side with your team.

You’ll need to be physically fit, reliable, and comfortable working in remote conditions.
