Senior Accountant – Financial, Management & Tax Specialist

OSOS Alliance, part of the PRM Group, delivers operational support and organisational solutions across Australia, including workforce mobilisation, compliance, recruitment and project services.
As the Group progresses through a structured growth phase and expands its financial, taxation and funding capability, we are establishing a Senior Accountant position to serve as the single focal point across General Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax Compliance and R&D Tax Incentive functions.
This is a senior, hands-on professional role responsible for financial governance, statutory compliance, budgeting systems, cost management, taxation reporting, internal controls, banking oversight and government funding accountability across the organisation.
  
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Governance

  • Prepare statutory financial statements and structured management reports in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
  • Maintain general ledger integrity, reconciliations and balance sheet accuracy
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain strong internal control systems and audit-ready documentation
  • Conduct financial reviews and investigations to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy
  • Introduce, maintain and improve accounting systems and reporting processes

  
Budgeting, Cost Management & Strategic Reporting

  • Assist in formulating and implementing budgetary and accounting policies
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections
  • Examine operating costs, income and expenditure patterns
  • Conduct variance analysis and cost performance reviews
  • Appraise cash flow exposure and financial risk where required
  • Provide management with financial insights to support planning and decision-making

  
Banking & Funds Management

  • Manage loan accounts, credit facilities and working capital monitoring
  • Liaise with financial institutions regarding financing arrangements and compliance requirements
  • Maintain oversight of lending-related documentation and financial obligations

  
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

  • Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS and GST returns
  • Prepare and review annual Australian company income tax returns
  • Maintain taxation working papers and compliance documentation
  • Provide practical guidance on taxation compliance and record-keeping requirements
  • Liaise with the ATO and external advisors where required

  
R&D Tax Incentive & Government Funding

  • Lead preparation and coordination of R&D Tax Incentive claims
  • Assess eligibility of R&D activities under Australian legislation
  • Reconcile eligible expenditure to accounting records with clear cost mapping
  • Maintain substantiation documentation suitable for audit or regulatory review
  • Support compliance and reporting for government-funded programs
  • Provide financial oversight for Indigenous employment and workforce development initiatives

  
About You

  • Minimum 9+ years overall professional accounting experience, including demonstrated Australian local accounting experience
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, reconciliations and internal control environments
  • Demonstrated experience preparing BAS and annual Australian company income tax returns
  • Practical experience dealing with banking facilities, credit arrangements or lending-related environments
  • Experience preparing or supporting R&D Tax Incentive claims
  • Strong governance mindset with disciplined documentation practices

  
Education & Professional Requirements
Mandatory:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or closely related discipline (recognised in Australia)
  • CPA Australia membership (Associate or Full) or CA ANZ membership (or actively progressing toward completion)

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Professional Accounting, Accounting, Finance or related field

  
Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and taxation legislation
  • Experience with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or equivalent accounting systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capability
  • Ability to translate technical accounting information into practical business insights
  • Practical knowledge and interest in government funding programs and Indigenous employment initiatives
