Trainee Mining Opportunities – Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander FIFO, Western Australia – Start Your Mining Career

Available Traineeships Earn while you learn with one of the following entry-level roles:

Dump Truck Operator Trainee
Operate large mining machinery safely and efficiently — ideal for those with strong focus and attention to detail.
Starting rate: $54.69/hr (approx. $150K p.a.)

Drill & Blast Trainee
Hands-on, physical work as part of a close-knit team — perfect for those who enjoy staying active.
Starting rate: $54.69/hr (approx. $150K p.a.)

Trainee Service Person
Support multiple site teams and gain broad experience across various trades and services.
Starting rate: $54.69/hr (approx. $150K p.a.)

Pre-Start Training – Job Ready in Joondalup (North of the River) Before heading to site, you’ll complete Pre-Start Training at our Joondalup training centre.

This essential preparation builds confidence and skills for FIFO work and daily life on site.
You’ll gain recognized tickets and qualifications, including:

• White Card (Construction Safety)
• First Aid & CPR
• Manual Handling
• Emergency Control Procedures
• FIFO Preparation (realistic site expectations)
• Job Readiness Skills (teamwork, communication, mindset)
• Inclusion & Diversity Training

Our training program prepares you physically, mentally, and practically for the demands of site life — so you’re confident and ready from day one.

What You’ll Need

• Current Driver’s Licence
• Willingness to provide a National Police Clearance
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
• Completion of Pre-Start Training (required prior to employment)

Location

• Pre-Start Training: Joondalup Training Centre (North of the River)
• FIFO Employment: Goldfields or Pilbara regions (WA) 
• FIFO From Perth ONLY!
